Brian A. Poems And Lyrics

"From Satan’s Lies to God’s Truth"

I was hiding in shadows, afraid to admit

My loss of control when I took my first hit.

I lied to myself, I lied to my God,

I made an excuse, and Satan did nod.

He said I’d find comfort in my drug of choice.

He deafened my ears to God’s mighty voice.

He led me astray for many a day,

Laughing and knowing the price I would pay.

He tricked me to think I was cool, I’d fit in.

He tempted me more with tonic and gin.

The days turned to months, the months into years,

Still coating my brain with reefer and beers.

The buzzes got longer, as I slowly died.

He said, “Try cocaine, you’ll feel good inside.”

He’d been running my life and I didn’t see

What his lies had been doing to me.

When I hit rock bottom, I felt so alone.

Then the Lord called to me, and said,

“Come on home.”

His arms were wide open, His love I could feel.

The darkness subsided.  I knew I would heal.

I now live for God, and see all His Grace.

I thank Him each day I’ve come to this place.

He’s opened my eyes, and this is a fact.

I DO have a choice.  I’ll keep coming back!

   "His Name Is Jesus"

He sees us in a light of love

For all eternity

He wraps his mighty arms around

Even you and me.

He’s been there forever

I was too blind to see

But now I’m in His light of love

And I’m thankful to Be

(GO TO CHORUS)

It may seem very awesome

wherever you are

How the love of God forgives mankind,

Near and Far

Our saving grace upon the Cross

Died for our sins

Now I’ve given all my life

The healing begins

(GO TO CHORUS)

The roads I have traveled

Were not walked in vain

The lessons I’ve learned

Have helped ease the pain

My teacher is a loving God

By his Grace I live

Confess your heart to the Lord

And your sins, He will forgive

(GO TO CHORUS)

CHORUS

His name is Jesus, Savior of the world

His name is Jesus, Praise be to the Lord

His name is Jesus, Forgiver of sins

I bow before you now, Lord

I’ve given in

It is not for me to judge

another person’s actions

I am only supposed to love

Each and every one

It doesn’t matter where they’ve been

Or how they’ve gotten here

The love that I show them

Must be sincere

(GO TO CHORUS)

We’ve gotten to this place

Each and every one

On bended knee we give the Grace

To the Holy One

King of Kings, He’ll always be

When you let him in

He’ll heal your heart and teach you how

To free yourself from sin

(GO TO CHORUS)

It may not seem so easy

Knowing where you’ve been

Christ is our salvation

Give your life to Him.

(END WITH CHORUS)

"Let Go, Let God"

(CHORUS)

Show the Love of Christ

In your life today

Open your heart and let it shine

And follow in His way.

Share the love He’s given you

To everyone you meet

Show them how the love of Christ

Has made your life complete

If you’ve tried it on your own

But never found your way

Let go, Let God.

If you’ve had a stubborn heart

There is a place to start

Let go, Let God.

I’ve been down a path

You may be on

And felt the pain you feel

But the treasure from His saving Grace

Has to power to heal

Let go, Let God

Let go, Let God

If you’ve suffered in the past

The pain won’t have to last

Let go, Let God.

Seek his face each day

Get on your knees and pray

And open up your heart

To the Father

How Great Thou Art
