He came a stranger to Jerusalem, where he was searching for the Teacher. And he could hear the crowd before him, shouting mocking words so cruel.
And down a road of brick and shards of stone, there came the battered Man, for He was cumbered with a burden with the Roman cross that HE bore!
He came a Stranger to Jerusalem, and he was searching there for Jesus;
And then the crowd pressed round about him crowding, pressing in on him. He moved to stand there by the side of HIM, Jesus turned HIS face to see.
They pressed the Stranger to the burden, Jesus' cross was laid upon him!
Oh Jerusalem Stranger! Now you walk the way of danger; to the Mount of Golgotha you bore His cross!
O Jerusalem Stranger, a stranger never more, for you found Jesus the Christ you were looking for!
You're not a stranger in Jerusalem, searching for Him.
For you found Jesus your Messiah as they crucified HIM!
Oh Jerusalem Stranger, "Crucify Him" was the call, and the stillness was broken, Jesus died on the cross!
Oh Jerusalem Stranger, the danger was God's call...to die for you a sinner, and He died there once for all!
Yes, HE died there, HE gave HIS life for ONE and ALL!
