Steve, Lost and Found!
In trying to access past protection from either
indirect or direct “touches by a Guardian Angel”,
I recall a desperate telephone call a half dozen years
Ago or so from my sister-in-law.
She tearfully pleaded for me to pray for her son-in-law
whom they couldn’t find. He had been missing already for
a goodly number of hours after a time frame where he should
have called my niece, his wife, that he had arrived
safely.
He had not called; they could not get an answer to his
Cell phone, and my niece was beside herself with worry!
She had called her mother, my sister-in-law, and asked
what she should do. Her mom told her to call the highway
patrol in the county where Steve was last known to be in.
The Highway Patrol sent out an APB description for the truck
Steve was driving. They finally spotted it along a stretch of
Hilly wooded terrain. They searched it and felt that there
had been no struggle or that harm had not befallen Steve,
yet they could not find him. They searched diligently on
both road sides, but found no tracks or clues they could follow.
This was the time frame when my sister-in-law began to call all her church prayer warriors, and when her call to me came in.
After hearing her plea, I immediately fell to my knees by the bedside, and prayed that the Lord let someone find Steve, unharmed, “right now!” I pleaded with the Lord.
I know her church warriors were pleading also for Steve’s safe return. You know, when two or more are gathered….
Prayers Get Answered!
It could not have been more than seven to 10 minutes later when the phone rang again! It was my sister-in-law and she exultantly told me Steve had been found!
He had run out of gas and had traipsed through the woods hoping to find someone to help him, when he found a farm house, sitting away back in the woods!
They gave him gas to get him going, and when Steve got back to his truck, the highway patrol was still there and there was joy in his safe return!
Me? I just fell to the floor, praising Him and as I shook my head, I remember laughing and saying, “Lord, You have a sense of humor, You heard all the prayers uplifted to You on Steve’s behalf, and You planned all along for there to be a house where there was someone to help him (were those Your “Live-In Angels”?) and You caused the highway patrol to still be there at the scene to witness
Steve’s homecoming!
I wonder, did they also witness those “Guardian Angels” fly away from the scene? Surely, they were there to protect Steve “all the way into the woods and back again!”
